In 2014, we facilitated this event in Southeast Ohio, and held it at Ohio University so we could combine it with a campus tour.

Schedule:

9:00 am – Setting up for the event
10:00 am – Youth arrival: Welcome, Icebreaker Activity, and Purpose of Event
10:30 am – Station Activities
Noon – Pizza
1:00 pm – Station Activities or Campus Tour / Residence Hall Tour
2:00 pm – Youth Voices to help develop a local Youth Advisory Board
3:00 pm – Youth Departure
4:00 pm – Facilitators leave, after event clean-up

Station Activities: (we alternated Life Skills stations with Sweet Treat stations)

1.) Funding Your Future: ETV bags, FAFSA information and Budget scenario

2.) Finding Your Path: Youth each share their goals for their future. Tools include: Career aptitude tests, transfer equivalency guide and Ohio Reach Board game

3.) Sweet Treat Stations:

• Gingerbread house making
• Cookie decorating station
• Hot cocoa flavoring station, with flavored marshmallows, flavored syrups, peppermints, cinnamon, caramels, and Hershey’s kisses
• Comfort Food: Microwave station to make Puppy Chow and flavored Ramen noodles
