Four Thanksgiving events were held in 2012:
- The 2012 Southwest Thanksgiving took place in Cincinnati on November 10th: (link to more photos) This event was held at The Peoples Church. Katie Deyo served as Lead Facilitator. Sponsors included: The Peoples Church, Coalition of Care, St. Paul Community United Methodist Church, Cincinnati Works, HEMI, Hamilton County JFS, Focus on Youth, JOURNEY to Successful Living, the Mathis Foundation, and Val Bairnsfather. SWOFCA assisted in event promotion to Cincinnati foster parents and private foster care agencies.
- The 2012 Northwest Thanksgiving took place in Toledo on November 11th: (link to more photos) This event was held at The Andersons Activity Center. Marcus Henry served as Lead Facilitator and Chef. Sponsors included: The Andersons, the Dave Thomas Foundation, the Northwest Youth Advisory Board, Whitmer Catering, Lucas County Children Services, and Lucas County CASA. We had a special guest; Chris Chmielewski of Foster Focus, the nation’s only monthly magazine devoted to foster care.
- The 2012 Northeast Thanksgiving took place in Cleveland on November 17th: (link to more photos) This event was held at Antioch Baptist Church. Sponsors included: Cuyahoga County Children and Family Services, National Council of Jewish Woman: Cleveland Section, Antioch Baptist Church, the Purple Project, and Adoption Network Cleveland.
- The 2012 Central Thanksgiving took place in Columbus on November 18th: (link to more photos) This event was held at the Harry C. Moore Campus Center at Capital University. Bethany Koshinsky served as Lead Facilitator. Sponsors included: Capital University President Bowman’s Office, Capital University ROTC Crusader Battalion, Capital University student organizations and Campus Ministries, National Council of Jewish Woman: Columbus Section, Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption and 2 Lt. Gabriel Koshinsky, 10th Mountain Division.
